And here we are at the end.
I think that I still need to adjust the jaw line. If you look at the photo at the beginning you will see that the poundest portion of the jawline where it changes direction is at the same level as the mouthline.
Earlier I said: "I am not trying to become a human copying machine myself. What I aspire to is to interpret something beautiful in a different but still beautiful way." So I would like to talk about what I have changed, and why, and what I did not change. In the picture of Aishwarya Rai that this is based on her head is at a scale of 9 inches when printed out on a regular 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of paper. At life size, if I remember correctly, she is 67 1/2 inches tall and, if she is about average for that height her head would be 9/70 times 67 1/2 , or about 8 and 19/28 inches, and so her head here is 28/27 times life.
What I wanted to do was to draw the whole head and leave room also to develop some sort of hairstyle. Also I don't like the way the camera is tilted in the photo. I decided to draw a head 6 and 3/16 inches on my paper, and this is 11/16 times what the head size is in the original. I decided to draw her without the hand, with a very curly hairstyle and also to lower the "key" somewhat. The original is a "high key" photo, and I wanted to bring out the shadows some more.
What I did not change is the shape and proportions of the features, and so it does look quite a bit different from the picture, but I believe that it still looks like Aishwarya Rai, which is my intention.
