Hello all,
I have been an artist for almost a decade, and let me tell you, it is hard to make money all on your own. Finding freelance work is a good way to add up the income. An even better way to make money is to get a job doing what you love.
I have done a little of both. I have worked as a full time art designer for a publishing house and have done tons of freelance work to pay the bills.
How do I do it?
That's what this week's article is all about:
How to Find Work in the Art World with the Internet
Here’s a little preview:
Resume
The first thing you should do when looking for work is to create a simple, straight forward resume that can be emailed, downloaded, printed, and posted on websites.
To make this possible, you need to stay within one, 12 point font, single spaced page. Don’t use any HTML coding, different colored font, or cutesy pictures. (To get ideas, look at the author’s resume, below.)
Keep it simple.
List your art work history, any art organizations you are affiliated with, schooling, and/or a link to your online portfolio. Also include your email address and phone number. Feel free to leave off your address. Leave that for a need-to-know bases.

Some say selling your art or making art for profit is selling out.
Pfht!
Selling out what? What's wrong with doing what you love and still be able to pay bills? Those with that idea are also probably working at a job they hate with barely any time to create.
